Gears of War 2 MAPS Under deliberation Gears of War 2 Seeding Points N/A How seeding points work From now on KOTC will be instituting a few new rules and have a few additions for Gears of War. The foremost of which being a set map cycle throughout the tournament and seeding points to decide who gets to pick map first and who gets tie breaker in the result of a tie in round count. The way this works is simple. For each round in the tournament there will be three games that make up a match, excluding the finals. The finals will be a best out of 5 or 7 maps (it will be explained more thoroughly at the end of this article). Each game will be played on one of the 6 maps that compose are map list and the maps will be predetermined. So for each round ONLY 3 out of the 6 maps will be played. The order in which these maps will be hosted and played will be determined by seed. A team has seed over another team if and only if they have a combined seeding point total then the other team. If there is a tie or both teams do not have any seeding points, seed will be determined by a coin flip as well as tie breaker if there is a tie in round count. The tournament will be single elimination up to top 4, BUYING BACK WILL NOT GET YOU PUT IN A LOSERS BRACKET (more on this in a future update). Once there are only 4 teams remaining in the tournament it will go to double elimination so that the top 4 teams placements can be determined, this will be done for both 2v2 and 4v4. If a team meets for a second time after the double elimination part of the bracket has started the scores will be carried over from there original game and it will become best out of 7 maps. The 3 unplayed maps will be added to the list of 7 and Canals will be the repeated map. If the two teams that reach Finals have not played each other then it will be a best out of 5 maps match and the team that won winners bracket will have a 1 map advantage over the other. Seeding points awarded are as follows. For 4v4 - 100 points to each player on the first place team, totaling to 400 points for the team. 50 points for each player on the second place team, totaling to 200 points for the team. 30 points for each player on the 3rd place team, totaling to 120 points for the team. 20 points for each player on the 4th place team, totaling to 80 points for the team. For 2v2 - 50 points for each player on the 1st place team, totaling to 100 points for the team. 30 points for each player on the 2nd place team, totaling to 60 points for the team. 20 points for each player on the 3rd place team, totaling to 40 points for the team. 10 points for each player on the 4th place team, totaling to 20 points for the team. All players that attend the tournament that do not place within the top 4 teams will get 5 seeding points for each event they play in. Do to this new seeding system we require each player to submit there gamertag upon registering for the tournament. The maps for each round of the tournament are as follows: |
